Preston Family Reunion 2010
Every year my family gets together and we spend a week playing and hanging out. Normally, we go out of town and do a fun vacation somewhere else, but my oldest brother needed to have shoulder surgery and we wanted to be close to him as much as possible. We decided to let everyone pick a day and plan something fun that they wanted to do in San Diego.
We had so much fun and I have so many pictures, that I am spacing this vacation into several posts. If there is one thing we know how to do, it is have a good time and take lots of pictures during the process. I hope you enjoy our fun week of partying.

Cute!
A couple of hours into our boating, we noticed smoke rising above the mountains. We first thought someone was just BBQing, but then ash started to fall on us. As we came around corner this is what we saw. The smoke was coming from our only exit down the mountain!
April protecting herself from the smoke smell!

Thanks to my sister for overacting, we went to shore and found a ranger. He told her, we are safe from the fire here, but they are going to close the road soon. If you don't get out, you will be stuck here for about five to six hours. Yikes! I have never seen my family move so fast. We grabbed the four kids, yanked car seats into one car, and took off within five minutes. The men and April stayed behind and loaded up the boat. The funny thing is there was such a long line at the boat dock, that my brother just pulled down into a parking lot that was flooded over by the lake and loaded the boat from there. Yes, we all made it safely down the mountain.

In true preston tradition, we played the bottle cap game! This has been a family favorite for years. To play: find four or five bottlecaps from around the house, preferably white and small, like body spray size. Have one person take all said bottlecaps to the bottom of the pool, while everyone else kicks in the water. Once that person is out of the pool, go fishing for, that's right, bottlecaps!!
Splashing to stop your opponent from getting the bottlecap!
Use of diving board allowed!
Two or more can jump for the same bottlecap!

After we swam to our hearts content, we picked up Wings and Things, and enjoyed it at home with everyone. So delicious!
So tired after a long day!

I hope you enjoy our fun-filled week of pictures, and hope I don't overboard you with pictures!

Day 1 - Boating, Fire, and Pool Games
Snuggling on the boat
Sun Bathing on the molecule!
Sadee loved the tube! They even got dumped into the water and she wanted to go back on. When we took her off, she cried and cried.

Since our boating day got cut short and we were all in need of a cool down, we decided to end the day in the pool.

Day 2: Tidepools and Seaport!
What would a family vacation be without seal beach, the tidepools and seaport village! These are our favorite places to go and the kids love it. My oldest brother had shoulder surgery that day, so we took his cute boys with us on our excursions. Lots of fun, but a lot of work to get seven adults and four kids loaded into and then back out of cars!

Yeah, he climbed down that hole! We know where Sadee got her monkey skills from!
Cute bunch, showing off the lovely fog!

Looking for the Seals! Apparently, our favorite seal spot has been taken over by humans! Terrible!
Can you see it? Can you see it?
Hands up, except you, Nick! Notice the little man on the bottom of the stroller!
We ended the day with Souplantation. You really work up an appetite when you go see a million things in one day!
Day 3: Soccer, Swimming and More Soccer!
In the morning, we went over to the indoor soccer park by our house, and played a competitive game of soccer. Since I could not play, I let the little ones run around and play on the upper deck while I took lots of pictures.

Cheering for our favorites! (Carter only would cheer for Nick!)
Jayla was cheering on everyone though!
For breakfast or more brunch, Jordan made his specialty, Popeye Pancakes! Too bad that oven rack was in the way, it probably would have been bigger!
Next it was swimming time! What fun I had taking pictures of my talented family's moves! Even took a few videos of everyone. It was a lot of fun! We sure broke in that new diving board!
Cannon Ball!
We went to Oscar's for an early dinner and then watched my Mom, Julia, Nick, and Jordan play soccer games that evening! The girls played with mom's team and the boys played on J.M.'s team since he couldn't play due to his surgery!
