Attack of the Killer Bees (sort of)
To make our Thanksgiving week more exciting, my dad, my brother, Josh and Julia's good friend decided to clean up the remoldeling mess that has been piling up on the side of our house. They were doing such a wonderful job and finishing up when my brother noticed something in the tree. He didn't remember cleaning anything yellow and thought it was strange that something would end up in this tree that they had been walking under for over three hours. He got a closer look and realized it was a beehive wrapped around the branches. Now of course being the men that they are they decided to cut it down and kill it before it harms anyone else. They filled a trash can up with pool water and placed it below this hive. Nick ended up clipping the branch, while josh was in charge of putting on the lid of the can. They both bolted for the pool and Josh ended up diving in head first. We got the whole thing on video and it was quite funny. The bees came after those boys and it looked like it does on Berenstein Bears, where there is a huge clump of them chasing after these two. We all had great laugh but it was a very nervous little adventure. Here are some crazy pictures of the hive.
Thanksgiving in Cali
I finally got to go home for Thanksgiving this year. It has been over three years since Josh and I were able to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family at home in Poway. I am so grateful for Josh's new job that allows us to enjoy the holiday season and be able to attend plenty of fun events. We had such a wonderful time playing soccer and eating lots of food of course. Although, Nick, my bro, kicked a soccer ball at my right hand so now I am sporting a sexy arm brace for two weeks. But other than that we had a great time with everyone.

I've been tagged!! So much fun!
I am actually excited to have been tagged! That means I actually have something to write about! I have been blogged by my cousin, Stacey! I am about to head out of town but I figured I could spare a few moments.
My cousin gave me the option of writing six or seven things about myself and I am not sure if I can make it to six. So, those who I tag, you can keep to the 6 or try for seven! :)
Here is probably more information that you need to know about me...
1) I am a songwriter. Actually, only lyrics but I feel that they are pretty good. i don't tell many people that cause I hate to brag, but I love doing it.
2) I am afraid of Car Accidents. When i was in eigth grade, I got in a bad accident with my family and whenever it rains and we are traveling, I get really nervous. So nervous that I am close to a panic attack.
3) I hate doing my hair. i know thats a shock to some of you but if I could pull off the bald look I would do it.
4) When I was growing up I wanted to be marine biologist. I wanted to live in florida or in the carribean and take care of dolphins and all sorts of marine animals. When I learned you had to take alot of science classes I gave up that dream. I suck at science.
5) I love to sing and dance and pretend like I am on broadway and dance around my house. Jayla loves it and it cheers me up after a bad day.
6) Last one!! i really not sure what else to say. I have a crazy obsession with Dolphins. If Josh would let me, I would have a whole hosue full. Unfortunately, my bathroom is my shrine to them. Although I have a few pictures around the house.
Ok, so now I get to "tag" a few others. Here are the lucky folks...
Anne, Carrie, Sarah, Natalie, Lichelle, April and LuAnn.
So, I guess the story goes that you have 7 days to post your tag (and to tag others) and list 6 (or 7) fun new things about yourself...or else!?! Scary...I've always wondered why we all give into these things! :)

Enjoying the leaves of Fall!!
We have huge trees behind our house that shed all their leaves covering most of the grassy area. We took advantage of it and took pictures with our little family. It was alot of fun and Jayla loves being thrown into them. We had a great time!!

The Princess and the Pumpkin Patch
We took Jayla to the pumpkin patch for the first time the Saturday before Halloween and she got to pick out her first pumpkin. I know my pictures are so behind but she is so dang cute. She had lots of fun but it was a freezing day. Her poor little nose was bright red afterwards, but we had to take pictures in the costume and everything, so she was a good sport. We had so much fun even though it was a cold day. It actually snowed that night!! Good parenting I know.

Check out that little red nose!! Too cold of a day!!

We love the beach!!
We had such a wonderful time visiting my family in Cali last October and I am just barely getting around to posting them. Taking care of a baby and trying to do homework takes up a lot of time. Anyways!! It was such a wonderful day at the beach that we actually went in the water. It was actually really nice. Gotta love Cali for that. My mom stayed home with the Jayla while the rest of us played at the beach. Surf's Up!!

San Diego Fires
I know that many of you have been concerned about my family in San Diego. Just so you all know my family is fine and they are back in their home.
They were evacuated from their home and spent three days in L.A. with my Aunt and Uncle. It was very stressful for all of us, waiting and checking the internet for more info. The fire did come about a half a mile from my parents house, but the firefighters were able to stop the fire and send it the other way. Rancho Bernardo and Ramona which is in our Stake was hit pretty bad with nearly five hundred homes lost just in Rancho bernardo, but no members of the church were harmed or their houses. The landscaping around our Stake President's home was destroyed and completely burned but his home is fine. Talk about your blessings!!
Anyways!! Please keep San Diego in your prayers because there is so much damage, physically and mentally. Thanks for everyone's concern and love.

Provo Canyon Picnic
We went and hung up in the Canyon about a month ago and I just love all the pictures we got. I know I am a slacker in putting this up. Melissa and Alanna, our two favorite single gals, are in the pictures. Alanna is available!! hehe!! Melissa is Jordan's girlfriend. (the one in the blue!!) She's a cutie but taken!! Sort of!!
I don't know if any of you heard about the Byu student who went missing around Bridal Veil Falls. But we were there two days after she went missing! They later found her a half a mile from those falls. A little freaky!! and sad!!

Technology!! Blessing In Disguise!
Last week we took Jayla to her one-year-old doctor's appointment. We were so excited to find out how much she weighed so we could turn her around in the car. We were planning a trip to Vernal and three hours in the car is a long time for a child to face backwards. However, Jayla only weighed sixteen pounds, six ounces. She only gained six ounces since her last appointment.
You can only imagine my shock and despair thinking what a terrible mom I was and that I wasn't feeding my child. Plus, she has to be twenty pounds to be in a bigger carseat and to face forward. That meant the three hours to Vernal were going to be like he** for all of us. Never fear however. My good friend, Melissa, (also Jordan's girlfriend), offered us her portable DVD player with a contraption to transfer the sound to our car. We were saved!! We stuck it in the back window, faced it towards her and no peep was made the whole ride. Thank Goodness! The best part was I could pull down my visor and watch the movie through my mirror. You have got to love technology and my daughter's love for anything on TV!!

Worn out!!
It is one in the morning and i am exhausted. I have been laying in bed for too long and sleep is not coming. i don't know what is up but I decided to check my e-mail and now I have been having fun editing my blog. I know I need to get some sleep, but I just can't make sense of it. I am not even sure why i am writing this but i am. I am crazy!! or just past exhaustion. Jayla is finally one and maybe its hit me that she is no longer a baby. Thats so crazy!! i think it is time to crash. Hopefully spending almost an hour on the computer will help me rest. If not, i may write another post.

Making messes

Jayla finally figured out how to open up the cupboards in the Kitchen. Thank goodness she only knows how to open up the safest one. The tupperware cupboard is perfect for her but she can make a big mess. This weekend it is time to child-proof the kitchen. No more destruction from her. At least it kept her entertained for a little while.
