I love to see the temple!!

A couple of months ago, we took Jayla to see the Temple. As we got out of the car, I asked Jayla where the temple was. She looked all around and said "I can't see it, mommy." I pointed to the big building right in front of us and said it's right there. She turned to me with a confused look and said "that's not Temple," and shook her head. So we have been trying to expose her to as many temples as possible.

We went and visited Julia on her birthday a couple of weeks ago and took her out to lunch. After we ate we went to Temple square and walked around. Jayla actually picked out the temple this time.

I love this water fountain and Jayla wanted to go swimming in it!

Julia and Me!

We also went to the oquirrh mountain temple open house with our neighbors, the Bullochs. It was really pretty and they had these gorgeous star shaped chandeliers, I just loved them. If I could have taken a picture, I would mount it and frame it.
I thought we had exposed Jayla to the temple enough, and then on our way to Walmart yesterday, she pointed to the Neways building and said "The Temple."
Good timing, since it was monday, we planned a Temple visit for Family Home Evening. Once again, I left the camera at home, so I used my trusty new phone again.
I love these fountains!
I experimented with my new phone and found out that I can change the effects of the picture.
Sadee Bug! So cute!
I can even do a negative picture. It looks kind of funny, but it reminds me of the good old days with film and negatives.

Happy Fourth and then some...

Well, I finally did it! I ran the Freedom 10K Run. It was pretty rough and I was near the end of the runners, but I did it. It was fun to run along the parade route and having random people cheering you on, while little kids held out their hands to give you fives. I was so dead, but I loved doing it. Too bad I have no pictures of me in my sweaty outfit.

Thanks to Josh and our nieghbor, Brad, we got a good seat for the Parade. They stayed out all night and saved us a spot. I am not sure that it was really worth it, but it was fun to see all the floats and I guess it makes for a good tradition, right?

Jayla, with our neighbors and besties, Brad and Morgan

Josh looking patriotic
Downside to running a race at 7 a.m., the husband did Jayla's hair or didn't, I should say!

Sadee with lots of smiles
Please excuse the quality of pictures, Josh forgot the camera so I was using my phone!
We were so tired that we ended up putting the girls to bed before the fireworks and laying on the couch for the rest of the evening.

Time to Get Away!!

We bought stand-by tickets from Josh's dad a year ago and we have been a little preoccupied with our lives that we have forgotten to use them. We finally got around to it and took off for the weekend to Denver with just the baby. It was so much fun to get away. Jayla got to spend a weekend with Aunt Ju-Ju and Uncle Nick, and we got a stress-free weekend, mostly!
It was mostly alot of driving around, either trying to find a place to eat or just exploring while the baby slept, but it was nice to not have to clean or deal with a temper-tantrum-throwing two-year-old.
The downer to the weekend - The week before we left Josh slide into home while playing softball and sprained his knee so bad that he had to use crutches the whole trip. Not so much fun in the airport, but at least we got to ride the cart at the airport and get special treatment.

We went to Casa Bonita restaurant while we were there. It's like the mayan, but has a much more mexican village vibe. The entertainment was great, but the food was nasty.
Sadee on her first 25 cent ride.
The injured man with a Bronco Statue. We saw this really cool looking park and pulled over to check it out. We didn't know that it was homeless central and a drug zone.
Pretty sure we witnessed a drug deal!
Yes, I am in the Fountain. The water turned off right as Josh was taking the picture, but it looked better with the water.
Love this name!!
The State Capitol...I love the affect in the sky. Can you guess what that is?
We also went to a Padres game. I know, I know, we were in Denver, but the Colorado Rockies were playing the San Diego Padres. Josh loved going to a major league baseball game, and I was happy to support my favorite team. We even got great seats because Josh had a bad knee and was milking it with the crutches. Yeah!

Take me out to the Ball Game!

Sadee loved the baseball game, can't you see the excitement on her face.

Running with Angels!

I have been wanting to get back into shape and I love to run!! My friend convinced me to do a 5k with her and I thought it would be so much fun to train for it and run the entire way. It was so nice to workout and practice running for it, and we were able to complete it. We did the Running with Angels 5K. It was alot of fun!! and I almost ran the whole way.
We made it! Diana, Joriel, Tiffany, Me and Julia!
The Finish Line!!
Cute, but sweaty sisters!!
GOOOO JULIA!!!

One guy even did the whole race on crutches with only one leg. Everyone was cheering and clapping for him as he crossed the finish line. I started to cry, and I am sure everyone else who was watching was impressed. If he could do it, so can I!!

Double Dating!!

I know its been a while since i posted but when we got back from Cali from SD card broke. I have been storing pictures on my camera for several weeks and finally found an old card to use. Here's whats been happening!!

After our long trip away from home, my husband planned a double date night with our neighbors the Bullochs. They took us to Brick Oven and then miniature golfing in black lights. We also played arcade games, which meant the boys played racing ones and us girls played skeet ball the entire time.

Everybody got a Hole-in-One except for Josh. Tiffany even got Two!!

Swim Away, Swim Away!!
Boat Rentals come with Good-Looking Ladies!!
Peek-A-Boo

We even did a 3-D adventure ride.

California, Here we Come!!

I have been wanting to show my friends in Utah, where I grew up. I convinced my friend, Tiffany, to come with me. We loaded up our four litle kids and took off for a week without our husbands. We convinced Julia to fly down and join us. Plus, Nick decided to tag along and bring his girlfriend, Shellie.
It was so much to show off my favorite place in the world. I miss every part of San Diego, and I am praying that someday life will work out and we will be able to return. I made a deal with Tiffany that we would spend only money on a few restaurants and do everything free in San Diego. We were able to accomplish everything we had hoped to do and it was alot of fun. Here's pictures of our fun vacation. Pause the music on the left to get the full effect of our vaca.
Jayla and Morgan couldn't stop playing with the McDonald's playset. If we only had a bigger house we would buy one.

The little kids getting ready for bed. Too bad we wouldn't let them stay all together.

Coronado and the Best Breadsticks Ever!!

We went to Coronado to see Hotel Del and enjoyed some lunch overlooking the beach, and then wandered through the hotel.
The kids eating lunch with Gramma. Morgan loved calling my parents gramma and papa. Tyler would call them jayla'a gramma and Jayla's papa.
Check out that view!!
Sadee content chewing on a water bottle
Beautiful flowers at the Hotel Del Lobby
Smell the pretty flowers
Nick looking Fabulous!!
We ended up parking a mile away from the hotel and it took forever to walk back. We would not have made it if Nick had not given the kids piggyback rides. Thanks nick!
Leaving the hotel
Fun Pictures while we ate at Oscar's. If you are ever in San Diego, don't miss out on these yummy breadsticks and even better dipping sauce. I am missing them already.
HUH??
My brother and his faces, oh dear.
I love this picture of Sadee. Such a cutie!!
Not sure who took the picture, but I think I look kind of cute.
