Memorial Day Fun with Daddy!

For a Memorial Day, we took advantage of our zoo passes and went to the Zoo with Josh and the girls. The highlight of our trip: the gorillas. Sadee is obsessed with them! Monkeys, Gorillas, George, or Ba-ba (her term for them.) She was right up against the glass and cried, "No, no, no," as we were leaving.

Jayla was definitely unsure of those big animals.
Luckily, they have these cute little figurines for Sadee to get her monkey fix. Oh, how she loves them! Lots of hugs were given.

Our little monkey!

Monkey faces!! Jayla, first!

Then, Mommy!

And Sadee!

Feeding the Goats!!

Our little bugs!

Giddy-up, Turtle?

Riding the Balboa Park Train!!

We stopped by Ikea on our way home, so I could buy more of my favorite kid plates, bowls and cups. Sadee was mesmerized by one of the hanging displays.

We finished the day with our own little pool party, and BBQ!! So fun!

Do You Know What Happens When you Assume??

The one problem with living with Grandma is mommy assumes if her little darlings aren't by her, they must be near grandma. Too bad Grandma was assuming the same thing.

One morning while I was enjoying a few minutes of peace getting ready, Sadee brought me a marker without a cap. I turned to tell her not to play with markers, when I noticed she already had taken care of that part. Jayla sheepishly walked in and said "Sadee, did it." But it obviously wasn't just her.

Not the legs too!! Oh, man!
Don't worry I surveyed the damage to the kitchen floor before snapping pictures, and luckily it wiped away with a clorox wipe. Phew!!

For those girlmore girls fans out there, my assumptions remind of one of my favorite lines from that show. Lorelai assumes that Michel's mom knows everything about him. So he gets really mad and this is how it goes:
Michel: Do you know what happens when you assume?
Lorelai: No, what?
Michel: Something about a Donkey, some stupid American phrase!!

Dancing with the Stars!

Check out the name on the screen:That's right I've got them hooked. It's all part of my plan to get them hooked on my shows, so I don't always have to watch Sesame Street or Curious George again and again. They even cheer on their favorites...

And show off their dancing skills......even doing lifts!! Carie Ann would not approve!
Next show to get them hooked on: Chopped or Next Food Network Star!

Stay-cation with Aunt Ju-Ju!

To celebrate my birthday this year, my sister decided to come for a week-long visit. It was so much fun having her here and having some quality girl time. My poor girls' schedules were put on hold so that nothing could stop us or change our plans. By the end of the week, we were all so exhausted we had no desires to do anything the last day together. But it was lots and lots of fun! Here are a few, okay, maybe a lot of pictures from our week of fun!!

Watching Daddy play softball. A lady walking by said that was a kodak moment and I thought you are right, so we took one.

At the Wild Animal Park, riding on the Tram.

Driving the safari car!!

Whew! Julia's not as big as a gorilla!

Whoa, don't fall off the lily pads!!

Sea World: on the giant jumping tramp thing. Not sure what to call it.

Getting to meet Elmo in person. That was the highlight of Sadee's lifetime!

Sadee holding on tight to Ju-Ju when we went across the walkway in the sky.

At the beach! Jayla actually enjoyed it this time and went in and out of the water with her cousin, Carter. Thanks Carter for making my day more enjoyable!!

Can't beat those California Girls!!

Thanks Ju-Ju for coming to visit and getting us to do lots of fun things. We had a blast!!

Visit from the Utah G-parents!!

We were so excited when Josh's parents were able to come visit us for a weekend. It was perfect timing while my parents were off playing in China, we got to spend some quality one-on-one time with Grandma Karen and Papa Coy. The nice thing was the first day they were here, we kept to our normal schedule, so the girls, mainly Sadee, would get used to them around, in places she feels comfortable. It did wonders for her, especially since Papa gave her candy within the first hour of being with her.

Day 1: Dance Class and Library
Jayla's bridges (we are working on her arm muscles.)

Yes, my child is short. She can't reach the bar on the low setting.

Sadee staying very close to mommy.

Until Candy comes into the picture. Bye mommy, hello Papa!

Playing at the Library!

Day 2: Sea World
Do I really need to explain this day?? Pretty sure the pictures tell it all. The girls loved seeing all the animals and Jayla was even brave enough to touch a few sea creatures.

We didn't want to stand in line to get a picture with Shamu so we just stood to the side.
Checking out the stingrays!
Dolphins!! Need I say more?

Shocking picture! Jayla was being brave!!

Waiting for Shamu Show!

Sadee loved Shamu. She just keep pointing and saying "Amu, Amu."

We set off some alarm while taking this picture!! Apparently, you can't get close to this monster jaws. Awesome!! hehe!
Jumping on the giant trampoline!
Riding the kiddie rides!!

Day 3: Beach, Tidepools, and Swimming
We went and saw the beach. too cold to swim or even wear a sweimsuit. Then did the tidepools, which is always a fun place to visit especially if you are from out of town. We got to see crabs, anemones, and josh freaking out when he had to touch one of the sticky, slimy things. haha!! Awesome!! Ended the day with a little swimming that lasted about five minutes due to the adverse weather conditions! (okay, it was just too windy.)
