Jayla received tons of tinker bell presents and loved everyone.

Did you notice how I wasn't in any of the pictures? Nope, I wasn't behind the camera either! I was sitting upstairs in bed, recovering from wisdom teeth extraction! Crazy, you say! I only survived with the help of my family over the weekend and my mother taking care of the kids and the house for a whole week afterwards.

Let's catch some rays in Santa Fe...or St. George!

We went to St. George at the first of August with the Preece family. This was our first vacation altogether. Let me tell you, it was a success!! We rented out this 4 bedroom house with our own personal pool and spa, Big screen tv, pool table and huge kitchen. It was so much fun to get away and hang out together. We played a lot of the Wii, lots of board games, and did a lot of swimming!

We also went a local lake and went cliff jumping and went swimming there as well. Grandma and Papa bought fun floaties for all the kids so they could go float around and take a little ease off of us!

He finally made it home!! Yeah! (He's the one with the funny face!)

We were able to fly down to San Diego, in July, and welcome my little bro home from his mission. Well, technically, he'd been home for about two weeks, but it was so great to see him and spend time with my favorite little brother. It was a very fun, but stressful weekend.

The day before we arrived, my dad had gone into the doctor to get his hand checked out because it was swollen, bruised and really painful. They told him it was some sort of infection and sent him home with antibiotics. Well, it didn't get better with the drugs, by the next day, even got worse and so after two more visits to the emergency room they admitted him into the hospital. This was, of course, Saturday night and the doctor told my dad that if in the morning the swelling had not gone down they would have to operate. This would mean he couldn't come to my brother's homecoming and hear my sister sing for the first time in church.


To make matters worse, my mom forgot to buy all the food for the homecoming luncheon and put my sister and me in charge of getting everything ready. Having one day to buy all the food, clean the house from top to bottom, and get everything organized for the next day was craziness.

Sunday morning came and the doctor said he didn't need surgery but recommended that my dad stay one more day to keep an eye on his hand. My dad told the doctor he had somewhere he needed to be and could he leave for a few hours. The doctor told him it's your hand or your children? What's most important? My dad ended up leaving the hospital, just to hear the talk and hung out with all of the friends and family that stopped by for a few hours, before the nurses called and told him to come back.

It was quite a fun adventure and we actually had an awesome weekend with all of my siblings! It was so much fun to be a family again and to play Mario Kart together. haha! You can see the pictures below!

Oh, I also ran a 5K that my parents' stake sponsored. Hardest race I have ever ran, but it was totally worth it to run with my sister and mom. Thanks guys for going with me!

Sadee's First Birthday Party!

I am beyond behind on my blogging and I really want to catch up on everything that has been going on in our lives. Sadee turned one on July 26th, and we celebrated her birthday with lots of friends and family. Check out the fun pictures!! I will continue to update our blog with all of the fun things we have been up to as best as I can.

'Cause I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane...

Okay, we aren't going on a jet plane, but we are leaving. I am happy and yet sad to say that we are moving. I know I have been horrible blogger but life has been crazy busy. I am just putting out this one blog to let everyone know that we are moving to San Diego. I have been updating my facebook account with all of this, but I totally forgot that my blogger friends need to know. So here it goes:

Josh got a job with my dad to be workshop coordinator and we have decided to take this opportunity to go to Cali and move to the place that I absolutely love. I am so glad that my husband is willing to make this sacrifice for me and I am so excited to move.

We have been packing and packing this last week, my house is a disaster, and I just barely got my wisdom teeth out, two and a half weeks ago. It was a horrible recovery and I am still trying to mend, so my life is one crazy mess. Anyways!!

Just wanted to let all of my friends know that I am moving back to my favorite place in the world and if anybody is ever in San Diego or Los Angeles for that matter, I would love to see you and hang out. I am going to miss all of my awesome friends and hope that all of you will take some vacations to Cali to visit us.

I love to see the temple!!

A couple of months ago, we took Jayla to see the Temple. As we got out of the car, I asked Jayla where the temple was. She looked all around and said "I can't see it, mommy." I pointed to the big building right in front of us and said it's right there. She turned to me with a confused look and said "that's not Temple," and shook her head. So we have been trying to expose her to as many temples as possible.

We went and visited Julia on her birthday a couple of weeks ago and took her out to lunch. After we ate we went to Temple square and walked around. Jayla actually picked out the temple this time.

We also went to the oquirrh mountain temple open house with our neighbors, the Bullochs. It was really pretty and they had these gorgeous star shaped chandeliers, I just loved them. If I could have taken a picture, I would mount it and frame it.

I thought we had exposed Jayla to the temple enough, and then on our way to Walmart yesterday, she pointed to the Neways building and said "The Temple."

Good timing, since it was monday, we planned a Temple visit for Family Home Evening. Once again, I left the camera at home, so I used my trusty new phone again.

Happy Fourth and then some...

Well, I finally did it! I ran the Freedom 10K Run. It was pretty rough and I was near the end of the runners, but I did it. It was fun to run along the parade route and having random people cheering you on, while little kids held out their hands to give you fives. I was so dead, but I loved doing it. Too bad I have no pictures of me in my sweaty outfit.

Thanks to Josh and our nieghbor, Brad, we got a good seat for the Parade. They stayed out all night and saved us a spot. I am not sure that it was really worth it, but it was fun to see all the floats and I guess it makes for a good tradition, right?
