Crazy days and Sick Nights

I have been terrible at blogging these past couple of weeks. Maybe its the fact that I am adjusting to two children and I am getting little sleep, but we really haven't had any major events in our lives. Here's a good story for everyone however.

Labor day weekend was very eventful for us. My sister and brother came into town to get away for a few days. That Friday, I found a cup of rotten milk in Jayla's room. Before I could dispose of it Jayla took a big gulp. SHe preceded to spit it out and I figured she didn't swallow it. She woke up from her nap screaming and right as I walked into the room to get her, she threw up all over her comforter. She threw up several more times that evening, and we just figured it was the rotten milk. Well, Julia flew in Saturday, and we went shopping and had olive garden with her. By Sunday morning, Josh and I both felt really sick and ended catching whatever Jayla had. Nick came down with a sore throat and spent the day on our couch with us. Julia spent all day Sunday taking care of all of us. When my mother found out she of course said do not send Julia home if she gets sick. Well, sure enough Monday morning she was throwing up and had a fever. Thank goodness, Sadee missed the sick train!! But my sister ended up staying an extra day, so there is the one bonus.

Jayla wouldn't go to sleep in her bed for nap and fell asleep in Josh's arms. She hasn't done this since she was a baby.

She even fell asleep with her toys in hand. Poor thing!
Here's some fun pictures of the girls before our sick filled weekend.

Officially one month old in the picture! Go Sadee!!
Jayla showing off her killer smile!! Last week, we went to Josh's Cousin, Alex's wedding reception. We drove up to Park City and had dinner at a really nice resort. It was a lot of fun, especially since we got a babysitter for Jayla and Sadee slept most of the time.

Josh, and his brothers, Justin and Nic. Trying to feed the baby. She looks happy but she was actually crying.
Justin and Lindsay showing off their dinner plates. The food was really good especially the salad.
Julie and Nikita snuggling in the cold. It may just be starting to cool down at night in Provo, but in Park City in was in the fifties by sundown.

There's our lives in a nutshell. Not much exciting going on, but still staying very busy.

A night of Sleep!!!!

I am so excited to say that Sadee slept from about one in the morning until seven-thirty. Six and a half hours of peaceful sleep!! I am sure this is a fluke and there will be many more sleepless nights, but I am grateful for my one night of sleep. It's a blessing in disguise, because our HOA is redoing our bay windows and the pounding of the hammer will not allow a nap today. It's driving me nuts! Oh well, I actually got some sleep, so I can be happy today.

Jayla's 2nd Birthday Party

Not sure what I was thinking that after having a baby three weeks ago, that it would be a good idea to throw Jayla a birthday party. Maybe it was the fact that my mother was going to be in town or that a birthday shouldn't go unnoticed, but afterwards I felt like I had been hit by a freight train. Guess my energy level isn't quite up to par yet. But we really had a great time with our neighbor friends and family.

The Jungle themed birthday cake! Josh did an great job making the cake, even though he burned his first batch of coconut flakes.
Blowing the party favors! Jayla thought these were so much fun. The new swimsuit is compliments of my brother and his family, J.M., April, Carter and Michael, in California. Thanks!
Blowing out the cake took Daddy and Mommy's help. She didn't understand that she had to get close to the candles.
Jayla's friends! Matias, Matthew, Tyler and Morgan! Jayla wouldn't wear her hat like the rest of them.
Sadee slept through the whole party in Grandma Karen's arms. Thank goodness!
Enjoying every bit of her cake and Ice Cream!
Tyler, one of Jayla's many boyfriends, playing in the pool.
Grandma Lou and Jayla enjoying the shade. It was so nice to have my mom here.
Opening the presents, but not without help from mommy and friends.
Here are the avid party goers. Thanks everyone for coming! We had a great day, especially enjoying the water balloons with the adults.
I wouldn't have posted this picture but as I was taking it, Tiffany, the woman on the left said "...and this will be on her blog by Monday."
Josh's sister and husband enjoying their goody bag.

A week to relax!

My mom came out last week to help with the new baby and Jayla. We had a great time with her and she is coming back on Thursday for Education week. Since Jayla has been having a hard time adjusting and well lets be honest, I am exhausted, Grandma Lou took Jayla with her to San Diego for the week. As grateful as I am to have a break, I really miss my little girl. i have called everyday checking up on her and making sure she is doing okay. Who knew it would be so hard to let your child go. Every time someone asks me how I am doing without Jayla, I want to burst into tears. Maybe its the hormones talking. I keep thinking that I am crazy for sending her off, but it is nice to just enjoy Sadee and sleep alot. On saturday, Josh and I slept in til 11:30, besides the times I woke up to feed the baby. It was really nice. Anyways!

Happily sleeping! After being well fed of course!

Just so you know! Sadee has been off the lights for a week now and is doing really good. She is a good sleeper and only wakes up in the night to eat. She also has this tendency, when you pick her up to go into this frog position. Its so funny! picture below!

Now announcing Sadee Lilianna Preece!!

I finally remembered to bring the card upstairs! Here are some fun pictures of our newest little addition! She is about a day old in this picture.
Our newest family picture! The glazed look is from all the medicine.
Leaving the hospital. Finally! I wanted to leave the hospital so bad.
Jayla loves her new sister. She found Sadee's feet and was so excited.
Jayla always want to hold Sadee, and give her kisses and her binkie, whether she wants it or not.

We are hanging in there, but we found out yesterday that Sadee has Jaundice which means she has to be under the special lights until it goes away. She has to stay there for 24 hours a day, only to be taken off to be fed and changed. It's been a rough 24 hours with little to no sleep last night and lots of tears. Over-emotional me and hormones raging doesn't mix well with the stress of seing your baby laying on a little table. Here are some pics of Sadee laying on her little bed for the next couple of days.

Not so happy about her new situation.
